Good afternoon-
I am asking Californians who care about ending the fentanyl epidemic to join me in Sacramento on Tuesday, April 18th at 9:00 a.m. at the Firefighters Memorial near the State Capitol, as we demand action on California’s fentanyl crisis.
Every month, 500 Californians are dying of fentanyl overdose. While law enforcement worked to seize over 28,000 pounds of fentanyl in our state last year, we still have a lot of work to do to get this drug off our streets and out of our schools.
Next week the California State Assembly Public Safety Committee is holding their last hearing for the year on Tuesday to pass fentanyl-related legislation, and many of our solutions to end this crisis have yet to be heard by this committee, or worse, have died in committee.
We want to have our voices heard and demand that the Committee take action to consider real solutions to end this sweeping crisis afflicting our communities.
You can find our solutions for combatting the fentanyl crisis in California by visiting the California Promise website HERE.
Please share this email with everyone you know, and visit my Facebook or Instagram pages for a social media graphic you can share with event details. I look forward to seeing you next week.
