Returning to the Assembly Floor and More

Greetings,

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you may have seen that yesterday marked my return to the Assembly Floor after recovering from recent health issues. Throughout my recovery, my staff and I have tirelessly continued our work on the issues affecting the constituents of the 1st Assembly District and all of California. Our commitment to serving you has remained steadfast, and getting back to the Assembly Floor to resume this important work with my colleagues was a significant moment for me.

I am deeply grateful for the warm welcome from my colleagues and for all the prayers and well wishes from each of you during my recovery. Rest assured, the work has never ceased, and we continue to represent and advocate for you effectively.

As always, if you need assistance from my office, please feel free to respond to this email. It is an honor to serve you in the Assembly.

Assemblywoman Megan Dahle

Keeping Tahoe Clean This 4th of July

Keep Tahoe Clean This 4th of July

The amount of trash left behind at Lake Tahoe after last year’s 4th of July was alarming. Many people love visiting the 1st Assembly District to enjoy Tahoe and other beautiful natural locations during the summer months. If you or anyone you know plans to spend time at our waterways or outdoor areas during this 4th of July weekend or beyond, please help us spread the word: enjoy the outdoors, but remember to clean up afterward. Keeping Tahoe blue and our district beautiful depends on all of us.

Additionally, if you know of any community events happening in the district this 4th of July that we should include in our communications, please let us know by responding to this email with the name of the event and a link to where we can find more information.

Thank you for your support in keeping our district pristine and enjoyable for everyone! Learn more about how to Keep Tahoe Blue here.

HUD ReCoverCA Housing Program (1)

ReCoverCA Housing Programs: HUD Income Limits Revised

HUD recently updated their Income Limits, impacting the eligibility criteria for the ReCoverCA Housing Programs. Here are the key details:

  • Revised Income Limits: The ReCoverCA Housing Programs benefit Low-to-Moderate Income households with an annual gross income not exceeding 80% of the Area Median Income for the county. These Income Limits are based on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines, which are revised annually.
  • HUD Income Limits for FY 2024: HUD has released the Fiscal Year 2024 Income Limits, effective from April 01, 2024.
  • Update Your Income: If your application was previously determined to be non-Low to Moderate Income, they encourage you to review your application in light of the new income limits. Additionally, if you have experienced a reduction in income, you can update the income amount in your application. Simply log into your application, re-select your income category, and resubmit your application.

Please note that the final determination of income and eligibility will be made by the Program based on its policies and procedures. If you require assistance or have any questions, reach out to your case manager, send an email to ReCoverCA@hcd.ca.gov, or call 916-202-1764.

Explore a Bright Future in the Trades with Apprenticeships

As graduation season approaches, many students may be unsure of their next steps. If you’re one of them, consider joining the trades through an apprenticeship—a unique and rewarding opportunity to build a successful career. The Registered Apprenticeship system combines classroom instruction with hands-on, paid, on-the-job training, making it the only formal, structured, and nationally recognized education and training program of its kind. You’ll earn wages while you learn, with pay increasing as you progress through the program, which is registered with the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS).

Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate and skilled journeyworker status, recognized and respected by federal and state governments and relevant industries. Apprenticeship programs train individuals to become skilled craftspeople, equipping you with in-demand skills, comprehensive knowledge, and a positive attitude for a successful career.
