Assemblywoman Hadwick is proud to recognize Tonya Dowse as our Assembly District 1 Woman of the Year!
Tonya has served as Executive Director of the Siskiyou Economic Development Council since 2005 and has led the Discover Siskiyou team since its creation in 2015. With more than 20 years of experience in economic development, Tonya has been a driving force behind strengthening Siskiyou County’s economy and promoting the region as a destination for visitors from across California and beyond.
She played a key role in bringing lodging property owners together to establish the Tourism Improvement District and launch Discover Siskiyou—an effort that continues to support local businesses and showcase the beauty and opportunity found throughout Siskiyou County.
Tonya also represents Siskiyou communities at the state level through numerous leadership and advisory roles, bringing valuable expertise in marketing, analysis, administration, and community development.
