Increasing their numbers in the 2020 Election, Conservative Women take California State Legislature by Storm

Assemblywoman Dahle congratulates newly elected Republican women on their hard-fought victories.

SACRAMENTO – The November 2020 California statewide election has resulted in solid victories for conservative women throughout the state, with a total of nine female representatives joining the Senate and Assembly Republican Caucuses. This election has significantly increased the number of Republican women in the legislature in a historic victory.

In November of 2019, Assemblywoman Megan Dahle (R-Bieber) set a record as the 38th woman elected to the California Legislature, and the first female to represent the North State in the Assembly since the 1970s. Winning reelection in November 2020, Dahle will join her female colleagues on December 7, 2020, for the legislature’s swearing-in ceremony in Sacramento, California.   

“I am very proud of the hard-fought victories of conservative women this fall, and want to congratulate the achievements of women in California across the board.” Said Dahle. “I’m excited about the opportunities this year presents to continue to grow the space for Republican women to make their voices heard in the California Legislature. When I look at my eleven-year-old daughter, I am overwhelmed with hope and pride for the next generation of young women leaders. They inspire me in my public service to be a strong voice for conservative women across California.”

Assemblywoman Dahle will join the legislature’s Republican Caucus alongside her nine female colleagues including Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield), Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel), Senator-Elect Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh, Senator Melissa Melendez (R-Lake Elsinore), Assembly Republican Leader Marie Waldron (R-Escondido), Assemblywoman-Elect Janet Nguyen,  Assemblywoman-Elect Laurie Davies, and Assemblywoman-Elect Suzette Martinez Valladares.

Assemblywoman Megan Dahle represents the 1st Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes portions of Butte and Placer counties, along with Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, and Siskiyou counties.
