SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Megan Dahle, R-Bieber, issued the following statement in response to the President’s annual State of the Union address:

“Americans are currently experiencing a historic high in inflation, gas prices are skyrocketing, and the cost of groceries are increasing. Working class Americans are being forced to stretch their paychecks further than ever. On the state level, California is faced with a crisis of homelessness and a massive surge in crime. Californians are suffering the consequences brought about by bad legislation and poor stewardship of our valuable resources.

“We need to get serious about becoming energy independent, constructing long overdue water storage, and directing our focus towards rehabilitating our economy. California has a bright future ahead, but only if Democrats are willing to collaborate on walking back the failed policies that continue to separate us from success.”

Assemblywoman Megan Dahle represents the 1st Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes portions of Butte and Placer counties, along with Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, and Siskiyou counties.
