Zonehaven – Evacuation Information
My last email included resources for those of you impacted by the McKinney Fire. Of those resources, Zonehaven, an evacuation management site, was the most utilized. I wanted to send a follow up email with more information on how to utilize Zonehaven. Click here to watch a one minute video on how to access and sign up for Zonehaven.
Siskiyou Golden Fair
Many of you may have heard the unfortunate news that, due to the fire, the Siskiyou Golden Fair has been canceled again this year. However, the Junior Market Livestock Animal Show was able to be relocated and because of that, will still be happening. Visit the fair’s website here for more information.
As a reminder, the following is important information for navigating a disaster:
- Follow Evacuation Orders – Do NOT wait to be ordered by authorities to leave. Evacuating early helps firefighters keep roads clear of congestion, and lets them move more freely to do their job.
- Know Your Zone – Use ZoneHaven.com to find your zone and determine if your zone is under an evacuation order.
- Sign Up for Code Red Alerts – Sign up for Code Red alerts to be notified of evacuation orders and other important information from emergency officials.
- Gas & Go Bags – Be sure your gas tanks are filled up and your go bags are ready and accessible.
