Greetings‚
Last week, Team Dahle had the honor of attending the 2024 Shasta College STEP-UP graduation dinner, an inspiring event that celebrated the achievements of this year’s graduates and highlighted the dedication of both staff and students to achieving their goals.
The STEP-UP Program offers a second chance to those who have faced adversity in their lives. Through a unique blend of restorative justice principles, support, and accountability, STEP-UP assists students in their journey toward becoming successful, contributing members of society. This transformative program, aptly named for its ability to lift individuals up and offer them a pathway to a brighter future, embodies the spirit of resilience and redemption.
STEP-UP is not merely a program; it is a partnership—a collaboration between various organizations including the Shasta County Sheriff and Probation Departments, Tehama County Probation and Sheriff Department, Trinity County Sheriff and Probation Department, CDCR – Adult Parole Division, Good News Rescue Mission, California Heritage YouthBuild Academy, SMART Business Center, Tehama County Job Training Center, and Butte County Office of Education. Together, these entities work tirelessly to provide educational and vocational training, financial assistance, and ongoing support to program participants.
The success of STEP-UP is evident in the achievements of its graduates. Equipped with certificates in technical education (CTE) and/or Associate’s Degrees in various vocational and academic programs, STEP-UP graduates are poised for immediate employability within our community. Through hands-on instruction, internships, and industry consortiums, students gain valuable skills and experience, paving the way for a brighter future.
But perhaps most importantly, STEP-UP is instrumental in reducing recidivism rates and creating safer communities. By offering individuals a chance to break the cycle of incarceration and addiction, STEP-UP not only transforms lives but also strengthens the fabric of our society.
As we congratulate the 2024 STEP-UP graduates on their remarkable achievements, I also want to acknowledge the unwavering dedication of the staff, volunteers, and community partners who make this program possible. Their commitment to the success and well-being of program participants is truly commendable.
Thank you to Robert Bowman and the entire STEP-UP team for your dedication to students and community.

Americorps / Dignity Health Connected Living
Last week, Team Dahle attended the volunteer recognition event hosted by Dignity Health Connected Living and AmeriCorps Seniors of Northern California. AmeriCorps Seniors of Northern California comprises a network of national service programs that empower Americans aged 55 and older to utilize their life experience in addressing community needs.
It was truly inspiring to witness the turnout of volunteers at the event, all actively engaged in serving our North State communities. We are deeply grateful for the time and effort they have devoted to enriching our communities. Congratulations to this year’s award recipients, particularly those honored for their exceptional 20+ years of service- an incredible accomplishment. The North State is fortunate to have such dedicated individuals committed to enhancing our communities. To learn more and to view additional photos from the event, click here.

This Month at the Capitol
Team Dahle has had several productive meetings at our Capitol office so far this month.
First, we had two high school students from Oakridge High School stop by to present legislation as part of their class project, showcasing their engagement and commitment to civic involvement.
Constituents from Shasta and Amador County visited our office for the SELPA legislative advocacy day at the Capitol. Their input and advocacy are invaluable in shaping policies that support our communities.
We also participated in a joint meeting with Assembly District 01 and Senate District 01, engaging with 911 dispatchers during their annual legislative advocacy day. Ensuring the effectiveness of emergency services is crucial for the safety and well-being of our constituents.
Lastly, we welcomed a group from the 19th Annual Promotoras Legislative Advocacy Day. Their insights and priorities regarding under-resourced and traditionally underserved communities are essential as we work towards a more inclusive and equitable society.
I am grateful for the opportunity to meet with such dedicated individuals and groups, and I am committed to representing our district’s interests to the best of my ability. Please feel free to reach out to my office if you have any questions or concerns.
