I’m writing to share the latest updates from Team Dahle’s work at the Capitol this past week. It was a busy and productive time, filled with engaging discussions and advocacy efforts for critical issues affecting our communities.
Meeting Highlights:
Association of Regional Center Agencies: My team had the opportunity to meet with constituents representing the Association of Regional Center Agencies. Their stories underscored the vital role regional centers play in providing supportive services to our communities. Discussions during the meeting focused on the implementation of disability service provider rate increases.
American Association of University Women California: During their lobby day, constituents from the American Association of University Women California discussed AB 1394, a bill addressing social media platform liability for child sexual abuse and trafficking. It was an opportunity for Team Dahle to discuss measures holding social media platforms accountable for facilitating such crimes. Keeping our children safe, both in person and online, is one of the most important jobs we have as leaders and as parents.
Other Engagements: Additionally, my team met with representatives from the California Academy of Family Physicians’ Shasta-Trinity Chapter as well as Equality California during their legislative advocacy day. These meetings are an important part of the legislative process, allowing our office to stay connected to the needs of the communities we serve.

| AB 2974 Passes Off of Assembly Floor, Moves to Senate I am pleased to share that one of my bills, AB 2974, successfully passed off of the Assembly floor earlier this week. This bill addresses a specific need in Modoc County by changing the designation of their jailers from a custodial officer to a deputy sheriff with their primary role being care and custody of incarcerated persons. This change will allow the jailers to be used in the field during a local natural disaster to assist with evacuations and other duties associated to such an event. By rectifying this disparity, we ensure our local law enforcement officers have the authority they require to protect and serve our communities effectively. | Minerva Scholarship Deadline, 5/31 The Women in California Leadership Foundation (WICL) is now accepting applications for two scholarship opportunities: Minerva Scholarship: Offering over a hundred scholarships of $3,000 each, plus one $10,000 Golden Minerva Scholarship, this program supports women pursuing postsecondary education. Applicants must be enrolled full-time or a graduating senior from a California high school and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Breaking Barriers – Supporting Women in STEM: Designed to assist women in STEM fields, this program offers 5 multi-year awards ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 per year. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to a STEM-related program and have a minimum GPA of 2.8. | Honoring the Life of Fred Salanti This week, Team Dahle had the honor of paying tribute to Fred Salanti at his funeral in Shasta County. Mr. Salanti, the visionary behind the Missing in America Project (MIAP), dedicated his life to locating, identifying, and providing dignified burials for the unclaimed remains of American veterans. Through MIAP, which relies primarily on private donations, over 2,000 veterans have been laid to rest across the nation. Having courageously served his country in Vietnam as a young man, Salanti’s later years were marked by his unwavering commitment to his fellow veterans. He tirelessly supported services at the Redding CalVet home in Shasta County and took immense pride in ensuring that veterans, whose remains had been forgotten, received the proper military honors they deserved through MIAP, an organization he founded. His life exemplified heroism and service in its truest form. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family. |
