SACRAMENTO – Today, Assemblywoman Megan Dahle (R-Bieber) made the following statement in response to the governor’s announcement that request for federal assistance to assist Butte and Plumas County in fighting the Dixie Fire has been granted:
“I am grateful for the federal assistance to combat the Dixie Fire, as this will help relieve the cost pressures on both Butte and Plumas County. As we find ourselves in the midst of yet another record-breaking fire season, our small, rural counties need full support from state and federal counterparts to protect our communities from catastrophic fire. It is unfortunate that these events have become our new normal, when aggressive forestry management practices could significantly reduce the scale and devastation of these fires. The state and federal government need to make forestry projects their top priority, and stop dragging their feet while our communities burn.”
Assemblywoman Megan Dahle represents the 1st Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes portions of Butte and Placer counties, along with Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, and Siskiyou counties.
